The venue

The conference takes place at the Hilton Garden Inn Boston Canton, about twenty minutes south of central Boston. Meeting space is laid out for a plenary room and parallel breakouts, there is parking on site, and the hotel restaurant covers the breaks. Holding the conference outside the city centre keeps room rates sensible in a month when Boston is busy.

Getting there

From Logan, a car or ride-share is the straightforward option outside peak hours. Public transport works but involves a change: commuter rail to Canton Junction, then a short taxi ride. If you are arriving the evening before, the drive is quicker after 19:00 than it is at any point during the working day.

Where to stay

Rooms are booked by delegates directly. We hold a delegate rate at the conference hotel and send the code with your registration confirmation — the simplest option if you would rather not commute to the first session. Staying in Boston proper is perfectly workable too, and the drive out is easy outside rush hour. Either way, book early: November is a busy month for the city.

If you need a visa

We issue letters of invitation once registration is paid, so begin as soon as your place is confirmed rather than waiting for the final programme. Appointment waits vary enormously by country, and neither we nor the venue has any influence over the outcome of an application. Where one is refused, send us the official notice and the refund schedule applies from the date you tell us.

Accessibility

The venue is step-free throughout the conference floor. If you have specific access requirements, dietary needs or would prefer seating arranged in a particular way, note it on the registration form or email the secretariat — it is easier to arrange in advance than on the morning.

If you are extending the trip

Boston rewards an extra day. The Freedom Trail, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, and Harvard and MIT across the river in Cambridge are all within easy reach of the centre, and November is quiet enough that none of them require queuing.
